You’ve got lots of choices when it comes to video editing software. But lots of decisions too.
First, you have to decide what’s available, depending on whether you use Windows or Mac or something else.
Next, you have to decide how much you’re willing to spend…or if you want to roll the dice with free software you’re installing on your computer.
And then finally you have to decide how much of a learning curve you’re willing to endure, because the cold, hard truth is that video editing software can be confusing and frustrating to use.
Thankfully, a newish app called Runway makes these decisions easy for you.
First, it runs in the cloud through your browser, so it doesn’t matter if you use Windows, Mac, Chromebook, Linux or anything else. Second, you can use it for free (though paid plans are available that offer additional features). And third, the learning curve is low. Like really low. That means you can pretty much start using it right away.
And even better, it contains some features you won’t find in any other video editing software…for example, like the ability to completely remove objects from your videos (think Photoshop for video).
My recommendation is that if you’re new to video editing, give Runway a whirl…you might find it has everything you need, in a nice, easy to use and free package.
